This appears to have been written on a single sheet of ruled notepaper in the same hand as
the bible entries. Many of these entries document events that took place before Samuel was
born or while he was a very young child. A reasonable assumption is that these events were
copied from an earlier document, perhaps his father's Bible. There have been differing opinions
over the individuals documented in the first three deaths. My opinion is that they were children
of the first Nicholas. We know from census records that the first Nicholas had a large number of
children although we have name proof for only Henry and Nicholas. If these entries were copied
from the Bible of the second Nicholas, it is reasonable to conclude that he would have recorded
the deaths of his siblings.
