A letter (23 Apr 1737) FROM Rev. Giessendanner to Samuel Paravicinis states that Niclaus died 10 days after arriving in SC. His wife applied for a grant of 250 acres in her own name on 13 Oct 1736. Ships from Europe usually arrived from July to September so I infer that Niclaus died about August, 1736.

The Dirr (Durr) family in the Giessendanner "Book of Record" appears to be a completely different family from the Till (Dill, Diel) family. The reference in Salley p. 94 to "Anna Maria widow of Nicholas Dirr" apperars to be a transcription error. According to Joop Giesendanner, the original says the husband was Nicholas Diel.
