Hurricane Laura - August 26, 2020
Hurricane Laura came ashore near Cameron, LA as a strong Category 4 hurricane. Galveston was in the edge of the cone of uncertainty until 24 hours before landfall and a mandatory evacuation was called. In the end there was no significant wind or water damage in Galveston and only minor flooding. The peak wind gust at the home weather station was 31 mph. The only noticable effect from the high water was some erosion of the outer dune as seen in the pictures below.
